Sis, it’s a marathon…
…not a race.
Okay I’m talking to my Sistas in their 30s who think they have it all figured out one day and the next day they change their entire plan…
I’m talking to my Sistas who are trying to find the balance, create the balance, and sustain the balance…
I’m talking my Sistas who are there for others and all while being there for themselves…
Sis if this pertains to you…girl SAME!
This year has felt like God handed me the baton and whispered, “Go.” No instructions. No destination. Just “Go.”
In the beginning, I was so exhausted! Constantly asking God, “How much longer?” Constantly telling Him, “God, I’m tired!” “God, I can’t take it anymore!” “God, I quit!”
He never said there was a finish line. He never said it was a race. He never said I had to run. And never said He wouldn’t be with me. He simply passed me the baton and said, “Go.”
I know life may feel as if you are running a never-ending race sometimes (mine has felt like that for a while now). Holding a baton filled with sadness, anger, discomfort, worry, and anxiety. But maybe it’s not a race. Maybe it’s a marathon.
That is how I’ve been living my life-like a marathon.
These 3 bible verses have been helping me stay afloat and have honestly been keeping me from crashing out (as the kids say these days)…
-Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
-Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; and in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
-Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and to not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (My favorite bible verse.)
Are you treating life like it’s a marathon? What are some things you are doing to stay afloat? Whatever you may be going through, be sure to find the balance, stay afloat, and thank God and your body along the way.
Always remember, God is with you and He will never leave you.
And remember, it’s not a race, it’s a marathon.
Sis, you’ve got this!
